So Far So Good

It has been a hectic year — mostly because this is the follow up year to my journey into understanding. A lot of the things I used to see now look a lot differently. Change is a good thing but no one really warns you that change changes all the thing around you from the food in your cupboards to the friends you hang out with to your hobbies.

Luckily, beauty remains beautiful.

I look the same but I don’t feel the same. I feel happier, lighter, more peaceful. I am still interesting in the human condition and love to know what people are doing and why.

My grandson Zak is 17 today and really it seems like I was 17 yesterday. That was a big year in my life. I dropped out of university and got married.

Seemed like a good idea at the time and the guy turned out to be a pretty good guy in many ways. We  just had nothing in common.

The first year we were married we lived on The Brandy Pots in the St. Lawrence River.

The Brandy Pots were three islands at high tide and one larger island at low tide.

That is where I met Vaughn. She and her then-husband Larry were sailing along the St. Lawrence on the Redwing.

They docked at the Islands and since the only building on the 65 acres was the lighthouse where we lived, we met them.

Vaughn is still one of the very special people in my life and I will be mentioning her more here.

And of course, my then-husband and I had two wonderful children. Yes, being 17 was a wonderful time.
